Red Carpet Studio Challenge

It is time for another Red Carpet Studio challenge!  This week we our challenge is inspired by the movie Bicentennial Man and the challenge is to use metal on your project!

Our sponsor for this challenge is LoveBug Creations and they have a $15.00 gift certificate for the randomly chosen winner!

When we took our little Eli to get his first haircut it was very hard for me so I had to take a ton of photos!  I loved his long baby hair but I knew it was time for him to get a nice little boy hair cut!!  I love that the salon had an airplane for him to sit in as he was getting his hair cut!!  So cute!!  I used some metal brads in my layout and of coarse some staples!!

I used an old paper line from Close to My Heart and did you see that cute Hash Tag embellishment?!  You can get this chipboard embellishment in a pack of 22 different hash tags from Creative Embellishments!  They are super cute and they have a ton of great chipboard and wood embellishments so be sure to check them out HERE!!  Thanks so much for stopping today and make sure you head on over to Red Carpet Studio and see what the rest of the design team has created!!

Happy Birthday Card

I had some time today to make a few cards and I played along with a couple great challenges going on right now!  Reverse Confetti's October SFYTT and Lawnscaping Challenge No.67.

I have been having fun using patterned papers and for this card I used some of my Heidi Swapp color magic paper and added some fun color to it to make those polka dots pop.  I kept it very simple as well and kept it pretty close to the sketch from Reverse Confetti!

I love those Heidi Swapp resist stars!  Well tonight I will be cleaning up my desk and packing up my stuff for Saturday when I will be heading to Hannah's Home Accents to take a class with Heidi Swapp!  I am so very excited and I can not wait till Saturday morning!  I will be taking lots of photos and sharing on my INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK as well!  Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you all have a great day/night!

I Am Grateful for Friends Blog Share

I started my blog in June 2012 not knowing what I was doing or where my blog would go and if I would even keep up with it or have any followers!  I wanted somewhere to share my projects and my love for anything crafty!  I have met some fabulous bloggy friends and have bonded with some wonderful ladies out there that share the same interests as me!  I was thrilled when one of my fellow Memory Works consultants and great friend Gia wanted to share a recent collection she had purchased from My Craft Chanel with myself and our other crafty sister Jody!  I love that even though we have never met in person we support, encourage and inspire each other!  So this month we will be doing a blog share using Crate Papers Flea Market by Maggie Holmes that Gia has shared with us!

I hope you will join us on this blog share on Thursday October 24th and that you too will be inspired to do a crafty share with your friends!  Please make sure to visit Gia at The Painted Crane and Jody over at SpiegelMom Scraps!  The theme for our blog share is taken from this little verse..

"Make new friends, but keep the old
One is silver and the other gold..."

We will be showcasing the use of silver and gold (especially GOLD) in our projects!

Thank you so much for stopping today and I hope you all have a great day!

Playing with Patterned Paper

Do you have stacks of patterned paper sitting in your craft space that have been piling up?  Well I know I do and I know I do not use them as much as I should be!  So when I saw Lawnscaping Challenge #67 I knew this was the perfect time to get them out cut them up!  This weeks challenge is to use Patterned Paper on your project!

So with this challenge and Cardabilities Sketch #84 I was able to use up a good chunk of some Halloween patterns that I have had for a couple years!  I had a lot of fun making this card and I used 8 different patterned papers with this card! Yes 8!  I used two stamp sets from Paper Wings Productions called Halloween is Here and Little Halloween.  I stamped out the pumpkin images on white cardstock and colored them in with my Stampin Up markers and then cut them out.  I also added some stickles to their stems to add a little sparkle.  Here is a look at my finished card!

I hope you dig into your stash of patterned papers and join in on the challenge over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog and thanks so much for stopping by today!

Embellish Me Happy October Challenge

I am so happy to be bringing you the October Challenge over at Embellish Me Happy!  But first I would like to say Congrats to Jackie!  She was the randomly chosen winner for our September Challenge!

This month the challenge is to create a project with a Fall theme to it!  It can be a layout, a card, a mini album, treat bag, tags as long as you incorporate Fall into your project.  I created a card that was inspired by the new Echo Park Fall Reflections Line I love the colors in this line and they are perfect for Fall projects!  I used a mix of the papers from this collection along with an image from the Paper Wings Productions Fall clip art sheet.  I used my PWP Fall Mix it Up stamp set to stamp out the sentiment on the image and added some Webster's Pages bloomers trim behind the image.  I added a great ribbon from Close to My Heart and a few pieces of bling as well.  The border punch is from Martha Stewart Crafts and I just love the look of the punched out leaves!

This month our sponsor Karen S. has a great stamp set from Penny Black to give to our randomly picked winner!  I can not wait to see what you all can come up with for this October Challenge!

Please head on over to Embellish Me Happy for my Fall inspiration and to say Congrats to our September Challenge Winner!!

Catered Crop-Can It

I am so excited to be joining the ladies over at Catered Crop for their Canning Jar Recipe Swap!  I was so thrilled when I was one of the winners for their Pack it Up challenge and was asked to join them on their next swap!

For this challenge you can use a canning Jar (Mason, Kerr, Ball, etc.) and fill it, alter it, tag it, decorate it . . . what ever you want to do. Or you can create a card (or scrapbook page) with a canning jar on the card.
  • Include a link to  Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on their sidebar or at their {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often, but be sure you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, October 12.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.
  • Check back  on October 13 to see if you’ve won an opportunity to be a guest designer.

  • For my project I decided to create a canning jar mini album and I had so much fun making this album!  It came together very quickly with the help of my Cricut machine and the Doodlecharms cartridge!  I used a lot of my Paper Wings Productions stamps to help decorate my album and inks from there shop HERE.   I plan to fill this great mini up with photos of my daughter Alyssa and her cooking and baking adventures!  Here is a look at my mini!

Serious cuteness going on here!  This was the very first time cutting out this image and I honestly did not even know there was a canning jar image on this cartridge until today!  This is why I love challenges because it gives me the opportunity to challenge myself with things I may not have done on my own!  I hope you will also join us with this great challenge!  The possibilities are endless with this one so head on over to Catered Crop and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and I hope to see you all linking up!

Halloween has got to be my favorite holiday!  I love to create all kinds of fun Halloween cards and treat bags!  Today I thought I would share one of the cards I created using some fabulous Halloween stamps from the Paper Wings Productions shop!  I also used a chipboard fence piece that you will also find in the shop.  I love the quality of the Blue Fern Studios chipboard and it held up very well when I head embossed it in black!  Here is a look at my card!

I used up some more of my Halloween papers from my stash and layered up a few patterns that I thought look great together.  I then stamped our some great Halloween images from the Fall Add Ons stamp set and the Build A Scene stamp set.  I then used a great Witchy sentiment from the Witchy Halloween stamp set!  Next I inked up the chipboard fence with VersaMark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder and I love how it turned out.  I stamped out this great little ghost image from the Fall Add Ons clear stamp set and fussy cut him out and popped him up on the fence with a pop dot.  It is so easy to create a great Halloween card with the amazing products from Paper Wings Productions!
