10 Minute Craft Dash

Happy Saturday everyone!  I have been so busy the last few weeks I have not been able to participate in many challenges lately!  Well today I made sure to make some time to get crafty!  Earlier this week while I was visiting my favorite blogs I came across a great challenge that my dear friend Lynn at  From My Bungalow was participating in and I thought it would be a fun challenge to do!  10 Minute Craft Dash  is a challenge hosted by Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month where you create your card in 10 minutes or less!  We all have 10 minutes to get craft so why not create a great card and enter it into this fabulous challenge.  Here are the colors to use in this weeks challenge.
Colors: Azure Blue, Gray, Cherry Red
I pulled my materials out and then found the current sketch over at Retro Sketches and set my timer!

I had so much fun making this card knowing my timer was going!  Here is a look at my finished card..
I finished in under 10 minutes coming in at 8minutes and 40 seconds!
Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you check out the 10 Minute Craft Dash!  Have a great day!

RCS #53 Challenge-Kindergarten Cop

Hello Friends!  I am so excited to be sharing with you a layout a created for the Red Carpet Studio  Challenge this week!  Our challenge is inspired by the movie Kindergarten Cop and our challenge is to use numbers and letters in our projects!

Our sponsor this week is There She Goes Clear Stamps and one lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive $15 Gift Certificate to the store. Don't forget, the team will also be choosing their 3 favorite projects be featured in our "Spotlight!"

I knew exactly what photo I wanted to scrap for this challenge and was very excited to get to work on my layout!  I recently took a class at Hannah's Home Accents with the amazing and fabulous Teresa Collins!  I was running late to the class and was one of last to show up and as I walked in I was a bit star struck when I came face to face with her!  She is absolutely beautiful for one but just as beautiful on the inside!  She has to be one of the sweetest ladies ever!  She shared one of her life's stories with us and it was very touching and has changed me in a big way!  I am always the one behind the camera and DO NOT like my picture taken!  Well she reminded me of just how important it is to "Be in the photos". To leave these memories for our babies!  To remember and document our life because like is short and so precious!  I want my children to be able to have photos to look back on and me be in the photos with them!  We women can be so hard on ourselves these days!  I always worry about my weight and how I am going to look in the photo but that is not what is important!  I am so very thankful for Teresa Collins for sharing her story with us and for opening up my eyes!  I am now in my photos and have actually taken a ton of photos with my babies and of myself!  So for this layout I wanted to scrap the photo of Teresa and I that I will always cherish!!
I used the papers and embellishments from one of Teresa Collins new lines Memorabilia!  I love this line and the quality of her paper is the best!!  I love how thick it is and it is perfect for making mini albums!  I kept my layout very simple because I wanted the photo to be the main focus!  I want to thank you all for stopping today and I want you to all be in more photos!!!  I would love for you to all challenge yourself to be in more photos and scrap at least one photo with you in it this month!!  Please head on over to Red Carpet Studio and see what the rest of the Design Team has created for this challenge!  You have until Saturday September 28th at 11:00p.m. to link up and you may enter up to three times!  Have a wonderful day!

A Little Layout Share..

Good Morning!  I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far!  We have had some very hot days here in Illinois and I am hoping things start to cool off very soon!  I have my cinnamon warmer on and my home smells of Fall and I am so ready for the cooler temperatures.  Now that my 3 oldest are back in school I have tried my hardest to get my two little men on the same napping schedule....not going as well as I would like but it did work for me the other day and I was able to get a layout done!  As I was adding the last couple drops of Mister Hueys to my layout I could hear the little sound of footsteps upstairs and I was so happy I had completed my layout while they were napping!  I used a sketch from Let's Scrap and papers from  Heidi Swapp SERENDIPITY collection.  I love this paper pad almost as much as I love the Sugar Chic paper pad!  Here is a look at the sketch I used and my completed layout

I used the right side of the sketch as my inspiration for my layout and I am very happy with my completed layout!  My daughter loves the water and I am so happy I jumped in the water to capture these moments of her having so much fun!  I am also the crazy camera mom and have to take photos of just about everything!  Do you find yourself taking photos of everything?  Even just the everyday moments?  I know I do and it makes me so happy to know I have all these memories to leave for my babies!  I hope you enjoyed my layout and remember to capture all the little moments that you can!  Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping today!

Embellish Me Happy September Challenge

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am here today with the September Challenge for Embellish Me Happy!  This month we challenge you to DIY!  The possibilities are endless with this months challenge!  You can create your own embellishments, alter a frame, and so on.  Just have fun with it and Do It Yourself!  For my project I took a plain picture frame I picked up from the dollar bins at Michael's and altered it into a chalkboard Christmas frame.  I plan to set this in my kitchen and let the kids count down the days in December.  I will leave a piece of white chalk out for them to change the date everyday!  I used some Martha Stewart chalkboard paint and some washi tape I purchased from our sponsor this month SpiegelMom Scraps!  I also created a super cute poinsettia flower to add to my frame!

Here is a look at my altered frame for the September Embellish Me Happy Challenge!

I had so much fun with our challenge this month and I hope you find some time to join our DIY Challenge!  Please take a moment and head on over to our September Sponsor's amazing shop HERE!!  She has some fabulous product in her shop that you will absolutely love!  I want to send out a huge congrats to our August winner over at Embellish Me Happy!  Jackie completed 5 of the challenges and did an amazing job on all of them!  She was our randomly chosen winner!  Also congrats to Karen Ruiz for winning my blog candy for the Back to School Hop!!  Please email me at medga902@hotmail.com with your mailing info!  Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

I absolutely love the Autumn season and all the many beautiful colors!  For my project I have created a tag with some beautiful Autumn colors!  I started with a plain Ranger #8 size manila tag and went to work to create this great tag for my journal.

I stamped the Circle Background Stamp all over my tag with VersaMark and heat embossed it with some UTEE by Ranger.  I then added some Rusty Hinge, Ripe Persimmon and Crushed Olive Distress Ink to my non-stick craft sheet and spritz with some water.  I placed my tag directly into the ink making sure to pick up some of that great color and then heated it with my heat gun.  I love this technique and the colors just scream Fall!!  I then went to work embellishing my tag and used an image from the Fall Clip Art sheet and also stamped out one of the fall sentiments from the Little Halloween Clear Stamp Set into this great little charm and popped it up from the clip art.  I also added one of the Chipboard Nesting Circles to my tag and some great flowers and leaves from my stash.  I love the way it turned out and I can not wait to add it to my journal!

I hope you enjoyed my tag and were inspired in some way to create something with the many colors of Autumn!

Mustache Bash

Hello!  Hope everyone is having a fabulous day so far!  My little man Eli just turned one year old and we celebrated this weekend with a Mustache Bash!  It was so much fun and everyone had a great time!  Little man Eli did not make it though the whole party and he went down for a long nap after he had his cake!  I wanted to share with you a some of the photos I took of the party.  I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do for his 1st party theme.  I love to be a little over the top when we have the kids birthday parties!  Eli is our 5th baby so I have went through just about every theme out there!  So I headed over to Pinterest and found 2 themes that I just fell in love with!  Airplanes and a Mustache Bash!  I chose the Mustache Bash because it was different, adorable and I loved the "little man"  type theme!  Since I waited till last minute to figure out the party decor I headed over to Etsy to find a printable party and purchased a fabulous one from Paper Heart Company  They were super friendly and super fast!  I also used my Cricut to make some of my own decorations and stamps from my stash!

The super cute cake is from Jackie's Delish Desserts and was so very good!!   We also had a great mustache piƱata for the kids to bust open and they all loved the candy!!  Make sure to check out The Paper Company for your next party!   Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you enjoyed my party photos!
