Let's Scrap 7-31-13

Wow it is the last day of July and here in Illinois we have been getting fall like weather all week!  I do not mind it all because the fall season is one of my favorites but the kids have not been very thrilled about it!  With it being Wednesday it means that it is time for another Let's Scrap sketch!
I created a one page layout using the left side of the sketch and was so excited to use the Maggie Holmes products I just received from Memory Works!  I have been wanting this collection for some time now and finally was able to order it a couple weeks ago!  I love the patterns and colors in this collection and the fabric frames are just adorable!  She is becoming a top favorite for me and I am so excited about her new product!  Have you been keeping up with all the new product released at CHA?  What is your favorite line and or designer?  Here is a look at my layout for this week and I really love this photo of myself and baby Eli James I just had to use it up in a layout!

I used all Maggie Holmes products except for a  few products from Close to My Heart that I just received the other day as well.  The stamp, cork arrow and the enamel dot!  I also added some Color Shine splats in teal.  I just have a hard time completing a layout and not adding some type of color splats!  Our sponsor this week is Fancy Pants Designs and they have a fabulous prize pack for the weekly winner!

To be entered into the draw you must have you layout posted to the gallery no later than August 6th at 11:59pm by the main page clock!  Please head on over to Let's Scrap to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created using this week sketch!  I hope to see you all linking up this week!  Thanks so much for stopping today and have a great day!!

The Paper Bakery Sketch#9

Well July is almost over and August will be here in just a couple days!  You know what that means...back to school shopping and my BIRTHDAY!!!  Well as I always cringe at the thought of getting older I am very excited because this year for my birthday I bought myself an early gift and that is a class at Hannah's Home Accents with the fabulous Teresa Collins!  I can not wait to get my hands on some of her new line and to meet her in person!  I will have details on my blog about the class along with photos next week but for today I have another fabulous sketch from The Paper Bakery
I decided to use up some of my I{HEART}SUMMER collection from Simple Stories to create my layout and only used one photo.  I added some stamping with a new stamp set from My Creative Time called Things I Love and their very cute Stitched Camera Die!  I had fun with this sketch and I love this photo of our sweet Eli James!  He loves to be outdoors in the sun watching his brothers and sister run around!  I know he can not wait till he can run around after them!  Until then mama gets to carry him around and get all the loving I can while he is still little!  Here is a look at my layout....
Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you can play along with this fabulous sketch #9 from The Paper Bakery!

retro sketches #74

Hello Friends!  It has been awhile since I last posted and I feel like I have been away from my desk for so long!  I went to a crop over the weekend and I was able to get a lot of crafting done!  Felt so good to get that much time to just do what I love!  I created a card with the August Simon Says Stamp card kit using Retro Sketches #74

I just love this sketch so much and was so excited putting this card together!  I used  Peacock Feathers Distress Ink to create the sky and stamped my new Cartoon Cloud Background stamp from My Creative Time in White Daisy Ink from Close to My Heart!  It is hard to see in this photo but there are faint white clouds in the sky.  I really like the way the sky came out and I am in love with this new cloud stamp!  I die cut a couple clouds using an Amuse Studio die and popped them up with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the March Simon Says Stamp card kit and inked in VersaFine ink.  My card came to together very easily and I just love the look of it!  The colors in this months Simon Says Stamp card kit are fabulous, take a look...
Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you enjoyed my card!

A Sweet Mini Shoot

Hello Friends!  Today I am here here to share something a little different today, non crafty related, but still so cute!!  Our sweet and sassy little niece just turned 4 and I took her out on a mini photo shoot to take her 4 year photos!  I had so much fun with her and let me tell you that she is a natural!  She needed no instruction from me on how to pose!  She was so full of great poses, great faces, and tons of laughs!  Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

Now is she not the cutest little 4 year old?  I took a ton of photos on this day but these three here are a few of my favorites from the shoot!   Please let me know what you think!  I am no pro but being behind the lens to document life is what I love to do!  Thanks so much for stopping today and have a fabulous day!!

Get Whale Soon.

Well I have been creating all kinds of goodies this week and today I have a card to share with you that I created yesterday afternoon.  I have had the stamp set and matching clearlit from Stampin Up called "Oh, Whale!" for awhile and I think it is just the cutest but really have not had any reason to make a card with it.
Until I saw the challenge for Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge Blog

Here is a look at the very first Curtain Call inspiration photo and challenge
I really love the colors in the photo and the anchors!  So I went to town creating my card and used sketch 302 from Mojo Monday that has been sitting on my desk!  Here is a look at what I came up!

The blue bag and yellow shorts really stood out to me so I knew I wanted to use these colors in my card along with a gold anchor.  I love the way it came out and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!  Thanks so much for stopping today and enjoy your weekend!

Paper Bakery Sketch #8

Happy Friday my friends!  Does anyone have any big plans for this weekend?  A movie, a party, or maybe some camping?  Well today I am here to share with you a layout I created for The Paper Bakery Sketch Challenge #8!  I have had our pictures from our Yogi Bear camping trip sitting in my desk drawer forever and I thought the "Days of the Week" kit from The Paper Bakery would be perfect with my photos!  We had so much fun on this camping trip and we hope to make another trip soon!  Here is a look at Sketch #8..
It is another fabulous sketch from Juliana Michaels and I went right to work scrapping my photos with this sketch!  The papers that came in the kit are beautiful and I love this one I used as my background from Glitz Design!
I used only a few things from my stash to add to this layout and everything else came from The Paper Bakery Kit!
In the sketch there are two circle elements and I tried so many different pieces to use and nothing was making me happy so in the end I took my pen and just drew them in nice and messy!  I took some white distress stain and some aqua acrylic paint and with my finger traced around the circles and that made me happy!
I hope you enjoyed my layout and  please drop by The Paper Bakery and join in on this fabulous Sketch Challenge!

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Who does not love a good action movie?  I know I do and I was excited when I read the challenge for this week over at Red Carpet Studio!  If you are not familiar with Red Carpet Studio they are a movie themed challenge blog.  They post a new challenge every Sunday and end the following Sunday at 11:00pm CST.  Challenges alternate between card and layout challenges.  This week is a card challenge week inspired by action movies.  The challenge is to use Action Wobbles on your card and I am so happy I just happen to have a bag of them in my stash of goodies!
I created a very simple card using a stamp set from The Stamps of Life called bubblegum4me.  I used all scraps to create this card and I am excited my pile of scraps on my desk is getting used up very well these last few days!  Here is a look at my "Bubble"Licious card.

It is Wednesday my friends and do you know what that means?  It is time for another Let's Scrap sketch!  This week is a card sketch but you could easily turn it into a scrapbook layout!  Here is a look at sketch 7-17-13

I Love, Love, Love this sketch!  As soon as I saw this I knew that this was going to include some gold stitching, some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and bright colors from Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook line!  Here is a look at my card
I ended up using a piece of Dear Lizzy vellum and stamped a birthday sentiment from my April Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I stamped it in VersaMark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder from Amuse Studio!  I love their gold embossing powder and I think it goes perfect with the splatters of gold color shine and gold stitching!  I just can not get enough of gold these days!!  This week our sponsor is Scrapbook Factory
To be entered into the draw you must post your layout/card no later than

Pin it Challenge

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a fabulous day so far!  We are in a bit of a heat wave here in Illinois so I am staying nice in cool in my craft room getting as much crafting done as I can!  I created a card for the Simon Says Stamp Pin It Challenge using my Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit.  I mentioned before how much I am loving this months kit well I actually love them all!  I have never been disappointed with one of my kits!  The price is great and it is jam packed with so much product and a full stamp set!!  Here is a look at my card..

I inked up some of the white cardstock in the kit with two different  stamps from the kit and then cut that out with a banner die from Papertrey Ink.  I used the colors Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Island Indigo from Stampin up.  For the cupcake frosting I used Melon Mambo from Stampin Up and Chewing Gum from Jenni Bowlin.  For the cherry on top I used some Hero Arts ink in Punch and then covered with Red Stickles!  I hope you enjoyed my card and that you will join me and link up your project at the  Simon Says Stamp Pin It Challenge!

Let's Scrap 7-10-13

Hello Friends!  Can you believe we are already in the middle of the week!  I have been busy cleaning my crafty space and destashing this week and I have found some great 12x12 papers that I forgot I had!  I have been putting together small kits for myself to scrap and I am going to share with you a layout I did last night with one of my kits!  I used the current sketch from Let's Scrap as my inspiration for my  layout.  Here is a look at the sketch
I created a one page layout and used the left side of this sketch as my inspiration.  The kit I created has a lot of scraps and papers from Heidi Swapp and a piece of 12x12 glitter paper from Close to My Heart.  I also added some color shine and used one of Heidi Swapp's stencils.  The pictures are of my oldest son and I when we lived in California.  Here is a look at my layout
I had a lot of fun creating this layout and my hands were very inky and full of teal paint when I was finished!  I love to get inky!  Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you join us this week at Let's Scrap and create something fun with this sketch!!  Our sponsor this week is Fab Scraps and they have this fabulous prize for the weekly winner!
