EMH Back To School Blog Hop

Thank you so much for joining our first ever back to school blog hop on Embellish Me Happy.  My name is Erica and I am a Design Team member on Embellish Me Happy.  You just left Ester's blog and wow was that challenge great!  If you for any reason arrived on this site from anywhere else other than the blog listed above please click the link and start from the beginning at Marlene!  There you will be starting the blog hop from the beginning.

Here are a few rules for this blog hop this month:  

The hop will run from August 13th - September 8th.   You will upload your creations for my challenge on the Embellish Me Happy Blog Via In Linkz and name your challenge backtoschool Mini Album Challenge 
 Please make sure your creation is uploaded by September 8th 12am EST.
  All creations must be new and not be combined with any other challenges.  
Please make sure you adhere to all the rules of this challenge, the general hop rules and the challenge rules.
You may participate in all challenges for the hop; you will get one entry point per challenge entered during the hop.

My challenge for you is to create a Back to School mini album!  Any type of mini is fine with me!  It can by a tag mini album, chipboard, cardstock as long as it is "School" themed!  You all know I am a mini album addict so I am so excited to see what you all will come up with!  I will also be giving away some blog candy.  To be eligible for my blog candy you will need to be a follower or become a new follower and complete my challenge!  Here is a look at the blog candy!

Good Times

Hello Friends!  I hope you have all been enjoying your weekend and have been able to get some crafting in!  I have had a great weekend with my family and I am loving the weather!  Yesterday we had a late lunch at Red Robin and then did some back to school shopping!  If you do not already know,  we have 5 children so back to school shopping is always a big deal!  Only 3 of them are in school but I always have to buy the 2 younger babies something as well because it is only fair!  After a long shopping trip we came home enjoyed some ice cream, put the babies to bed and watched Olympus Has Fallen with our oldest son.  I of coarse fell asleep after the movie for about a half hour and woke up energized and ready to work out and then get crafty!  I am such a night owl so this is very typical for me to be up till 3:00a.m.  I created a layout with a photo I had put on Instagram a couple weeks ago of my good friend and I.   We had movie night with our guys and we had the best time!  We hit the video store, rented some comedy shows and ordered in some fabulous food and of coarse a couple drinks.  We were laughing so hard we had tears rolling down our cheeks!  Good times need to be documented so I knew this picture we took had to be scraped and journaled!  We took this picture in the kitchen and we could not stop laughing!  I think we had them take about 10 different picture until we could agree on one that we liked!  You would swear we were a bunch of high school kids!  I used my Heidi Swapp stash of goodies to create my layout and a white 12x12 as my base.  I used my stencils and mists and also used my white pigment ink pad with the stencil to add some life to the white cardstock!  I just love to get messy don't you??  Here is a look at my layout

Like I have said before I just can not get enough of my Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper pad!  I did add a couple things in this layout from her other lines as well!  I love how they can all go together!  Thanks so much for stopping today and I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Enjoy the rest of your day!

Neon Ink

Hello Friends!  I am here to share with you a card a made using Hero Arts Neon Ink!  I love these inks and they have been sitting in my cart for a couple months now and I have not done a thing with them in awhile!  So I picked them up and started to play around with them!  I created a fun background using a circle stamp that came in my August Simon Says Stamp card kit and an eraser tip from a pencil. 

I used three different ink colors, Neon Pink, Neon Yellow and Neon Orange!

I started with the yellow and stamped it out on my card once to get the brightest color and then stamped it out again to get a lighter shade.  I did this with all three colors and ended up with this fun and bright background.

I love the way it turned out and wanted to keep the card I created with it pretty simple so that the background was the main focus!  I added a couple stamps from the Simon Says Stamp set Card-Exchanging Friends and a couple stars from Heidi Swapp and called it done!

Let's Scrap 8-7-13

It is my birthday today and I am so excited to be having a night with just Michael and I!  Well not a whole night but a least a few hours to enjoy some dinner and have uninterrupted conversation!   Today is Wednesday so that means it is time for another Let's Scrap sketch!  Every week there is a new sketch and a new randomly chosen winner!  I am so happy I have seen so many of my bloggy friends joining the Let's Scrap community and uploading their projects into the gallery!  Here is a look at this weeks sketch and my layout using this sketch!

Memory Works Guest Designer

Hello Friends!  I am so excited to be sharing with you that I will be the Guest Designer for Memory Works this month!  I have been with Memory Works since November 2011 and was Guest Designer in May of 2012 so I was so thrilled when they asked me again!  My post will go up on the Memory Works blog every Tuesday so make sure to stop by and check them out!  Today I have some projects to share with you that I created with my Memory Works stash of products!  First up is a mini clipboard that I altered into a display piece for my instagram shots.  I will hang this in my craft space and I can easily change out the pictures!

I love the way it turned out and I think I will make another for my kitchen!  So quick and easy and super cute!  Next up I have a couple layouts and a card to share!  The first layout is created using Fancy Pants Designs The Good Life collection!  I love the black, red, yellows and blues in this collection!  Think it went perfect with baby Eli's onesie he is wearing in the photo wouldn't you agree!

For my next layout I used my Simple Stories I {HEART}SUMMER collection and I am running very low on this collection!  I have used it a ton since I have received it and I am so in love with the fun colors!  It has been perfect for scrapping my summer photos! 

Last but not least I have a fun and simple card to share with you using the July Memory Works Express Kit and my Epiphany Crafts Round 20 tool!  Love this little tool to create elements to match my projects!

Let's Scrap Challenge#167

It's Friday friends and I am so excited today is the day of the Teresa Collins class!  I am so excited to be taking this class and I will be heading out very soon but I wanted to share a layout I created for Let's Scrap Challenge #167!  If you have not yet been over to Let's Scrap  and joined our online community please stop over and check it out!  You will find an amazing group of crafty friends, as well as fun challenges, tutorials, sketches and so much more!  Today I am here with a fun challenge going on this week bought to us by Design Team Member Carol! 

Take a boy or girl layout that you have previously made and change it to a girl or boy layout, in other words, if you have made a girl layout you need to change it into a boy layout!!  Before you moan that you only have boys or only have girls....think a little out of the box....make something special for a friend who has girls or boys, or scrap you husband or yourself....there are many opportunities for girl/boy layouts!!

Here are a few other rules to go along with this challenge

You must use a Let’s Scrap Sketch.

This Challenge cannot be combined with the weekly main page sketch, special month-long site-sponsored sketch, the BAM (Book about Me) challenges or the Scrap our Stash Challenge.

The layout/card must be something you scrapped new for this challenge not something that you previously made.

Upload your page photo to the gallery by Thursday, (August, 08) at 11:59 p.m. (using the main page clock time), to be eligible for the prize drawing.

Be sure to tag your layout/card correctly:  challenge167 (all one word), followed by a comma, a space, and the sketch number you used.  My tag will read:   9-1-10, challenge167

Include in the comment section of your post a link to the layout you have "swapped" and changed!

Let's Scrap 7-31-13

Wow it is the last day of July and here in Illinois we have been getting fall like weather all week!  I do not mind it all because the fall season is one of my favorites but the kids have not been very thrilled about it!  With it being Wednesday it means that it is time for another Let's Scrap sketch!

I created a one page layout using the left side of the sketch and was so excited to use the Maggie Holmes products I just received from Memory Works!  I have been wanting this collection for some time now and finally was able to order it a couple weeks ago!  I love the patterns and colors in this collection and the fabric frames are just adorable!  She is becoming a top favorite for me and I am so excited about her new product!  Have you been keeping up with all the new product released at CHA?  What is your favorite line and or designer?  Here is a look at my layout for this week and I really love this photo of myself and baby Eli James I just had to use it up in a layout!

I used all Maggie Holmes products except for a  few products from Close to My Heart that I just received the other day as well.  The stamp, cork arrow and the enamel dot!  I also added some Color Shine splats in teal.  I just have a hard time completing a layout and not adding some type of color splats!  Our sponsor this week is Fancy Pants Designs and they have a fabulous prize pack for the weekly winner!
